Wow..why does the topic of Justin Bieber have my first official post? It does make me realize that I never have been “star struck” by any celebrity. Don’t get me wrong, it is cool to meet people with celebrity status, but I am grounded enough to understand that at the end of the day, they still have to wipe their own ass just like me (I do wonder if any of them has had their ass wiped by a willing assistant)…
Back to my point…
My wife (…I’ll get into that another day…) got tickets for our five year old to see Justin Bieber. Because the concert is outside and they want to prevent injuries; the process was to get your “armband” and come back later at a designated time and area for when the concert starts. Given the star status of JB, needless to say that when I arrived the line was close to 4 miles long…”holy fuck” was my exact quote. Luckily my wife has a client who works for promotions at a radio station and was able to get the tickets and the armbands for me within 20 mins, so my total time invested was about an hour.
So my afternoon and evening will be spent listening to near 12,000 screaming girls who ages range from 5 to 15…screaming for their teen idol. Ugh! Luckily I will have my iPhone; so I plan to document the day and my little girl’s reaction to the event.
The reality is that this is really for her and as a parent, you want to give your kids a meaningful childhood, even if your don’t fully understand their artistic interest. It should be interesting to how she reacts to all the “hype and hoopla” the day will bring.
